Born in New Zealand, moved to England then to Australia 1954. Grew up in Northwood a harbour-side suburb of Sydney.

Went to James Ruse Agricultural High School, didn’t qualify for University so joined the Dept of Navy, where I was trained as a Weapons Technician. After nine years I left the Navy and worked for an American Company based in Minnesota responsible for the Australasia and South East Asia area.

Finally settled down got married, helped raise two great children in the Hornsby Area of Sydney. Worked for various Corporate Companies continuing to travel frequently.

Was President, Treasurer at different times of the Dural Musical Society for 30 years and was awarded Life Membership.

My Wife and I decided on retirement to Tasmania as it is her birthplace and my ancestral home.

Joined the Ulverstone Mens Shed in 2018 to fully embrace my passion for woodworking and assisting others get the passion.
